At The Heart of My Work Is Mindfulness
Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom.

TUNING FORK SOLUTIONS
Matt Simmons
I’m Matt Simmons, and my journey to founding Tuning Fork Solutions started in the culinary world immersed in the chaos of clanking plates, pots and pans, and the endless hustle of the service industry.
One evening, as I stepped into the restaurant dining room where I worked, I had a moment of attunement amid the noise. I witnessed patrons savoring their meals, connected in laughter and mindful of the moment.
In that instant, I realized something profound: I wanted to help people savor more than just food. I wanted to help them savor life. I wanted to be more mindful in my own life.
But the culinary world is as addictive as it is stressful, and I had my share of hard lessons. Leaving it wasn’t easy, but it was necessary. What I discovered on the other side was a truth that changed everything: mindfulness is the key to unlocking agency in our lives.
That realization became my mission—to guide others toward their innate wisdom, to help them open up choices and opportunities, and to create meaningful connections with themselves and their communities.
I aim to help people find balance and resilience in a chaotic world. Our work isn’t just about surviving, it’s about thriving. By empowering others to approach life mindfully, curiously, and authentically, we create spaces where growth happens, connections deepen, and possibilities expand.
This is my big WHY — to curate experiences that restore and rebalance, to elevate community wellbeing through shepherding individuals and families towards regenerative practices that focus on restoring, renewing, and revitalizing one’s spirit, mind and body.
These practices aim to actively improve the health and resilience of individuals, families and communities rather than simply maintaining the status quo, and to show that abundance is near—if we’re willing to go through, not around. Through truth, through hope, and through mindful living, we can all tune in to the harmony within.

About
In the thick of a bustling kitchen, surrounded by the clang of pots and pans, I discovered more than a love for food—I found a purpose.
Cooking wasn’t just about nourishment; it was a way to craft experiences that brought people together, sparking joy and connection. But beneath the surface of this intoxicating world, I felt the undercurrent of something deeper.
One night, gazing out over a dining room alive with chatter, glasses clinking, and meals shared, there was a moment of piercing clarity for me.
I thought, these people aren’t just eating—they’re craving something more profound. Connection. Meaning. That’s when I realized my true calling wasn’t in the kitchen—it was in helping people find themselves.
Breaking Free to Build
The culinary world was relentless, a storm of sleepless nights, frayed nerves, and unhealthy coping mechanisms. It nearly consumed me. But I walked away—not in defeat, but in defiance. I realized the cycle I was in wasn’t just unsustainable; it was misaligned with the life I was meant to lead.
I returned to my true self through mindfulness—a potent practice that unlocked awareness, agency, truth and hope. It was transformative, and I knew it would become the bedrock of my work with others.
My breadth of experience across a number of clinical and community settings led me to establish Tuning Fork Solutions, a practice that combines mindfulness, community, and resilience to help others find thier frequency.
Why Matt? Why Now?
I am not just a therapist or a coach— I’m someone who’s lived through the chaos, fought through the noise, and found a way out. I stood in the eye of the storm, in the kitchen and beyond, and emerged stronger, clearer, and more determined to help others do the same.
The world is louder and more chaotic than ever. Tuning Fork Solutions exists to cut through that noise, to guide you through life’s complexities with strategies and solutions that empower mindful, authentic living.
Beyond Business
Living on an 100 acre regenerative farm in Colorado, I draw parallels between the land’s regeneration and our need for regenerating our social soil. Through mindfulness, regenerative agriculture, and even Jiu-Jitsu—a practice I discovered to be a metaphor for life’s balancing act, I aim to teach others to find agency in their lives.
The Invitation
I invite you to embark on this journey. Life’s challenges demand resilience, clarity, and courage. In working with you, you’ll find more than strategies—you’ll find a partner who’s walked the path, a guide ready to help you face life head-on.
Because through is the way.
Work With Me
Welcome to my practice —where personal growth meets mindfulness, and healing transforms into empowerment.
With over 15 years of experience in the mental health field, I have been honored to guide individuals and families through challenges such as ADHD, addiction, anxiety and attachment issues.
My journey spans diverse settings, from the serene shores of Hawaii to the vibrant communities of Colorado, each shaping my holistic and integrative approach to mental well-being.
My Approach
At the heart of my work is mindfulness—the transformative practice of cultivating present-moment awareness. Mindfulness not only reduces suffering but also enables us to align our choices with our values. My practice integrates evidence-based therapies, each underpinned by the principles of mindfulness:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT):
Helps reframe negative thought patterns and foster healthier behaviors.
Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT):
Combines CBT with mindfulness to build awareness and prevent relapse into negative cycles.
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT):
Focuses on emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness.
Together, these approaches empower clients to navigate challenges with clarity, resilience, and intentionality.
My Philosophy
I believe that healing begins with awareness and acceptance. Much like a tuning fork, we resonate most authentically when we connect deeply with ourselves and others. By fostering this resonance, we can create lives filled with integrity, purpose, and flourishing relationships.
As Viktor Frankl wisely said: “Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom.” My work is dedicated to helping you discover that space—transforming challenges into opportunities for growth and liberation.
